PBB will be one of the guest stars of the 2011 Tenco Prize show, the most renowned event celebrating Italian songwriting. They will perform on the stage of the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo on November the 12th together with Mauro Pagani, Luciano Ligabue and other prominent guests.
“This is good news for us, a much sought after award. To participate at the Tenco Prize show means to be where all our masters have performed before, it was their music and lyrics that drove us towards the wild path of songwriting. It will be a truly emotional experience and we will savour this challenge with a celebrative attitude, enjoying the atmosphere of the Ariston Theatre” says Giorgio Gobbo, PBB’s lead singer.
PBB, the first band from Padua to perform live at the Tenco Prize, will play original songs from their latest “Ladr di rose” cd and a cover version of George Brassens’ “Marinette”, a tribute to the French sonwriter on the 30th anniversary of his death.

For the ones who missed to buy “Radici” compilation in newspaper shops, now they can order it online here!
12 songs in Italian and dialect depicting Veneto and its contradictions, selected among 10 years of PBB’s career in music, plus the new song “Cercando un paese”.
Piccola Bottega Baltazar came back from Musicultura Festival with a significant trophy: the best music award!
The band was the only one from North-eastern Italy to be shortlisted for the final event of the national festival Musicultura, formerly Recanati Prize, held between the 17th and 19th of June in the great scenario of the Arena sferisterio in Macerata. The event was live nationwide broadcasted by Radiorai 1 and it hosted some of the most famous Italian musicians, such as Angelo Branduardi, Enrico Ruggeri, Fiorella Mannoia, Giuliano Palma, Patty Pravo and Afterhours.
Piccola Bottega Baltazar gained the warm appreciation of the crowded attendance (2,600 people) as well as the best music award presenting the song “La donna del cow boy”, included in the latest cd “Ladro di rose” and in “Radici” compilation released by Azzurra Music.

The swiss website Restorm has chosen PBB as their “band of the day” for the following reason:
The Italian group „piccola bottega baltazar“ delivers gripping pop songs with a degree of intimacy only real folk instruments can achieve. Adding compassionate and carefully constructed lyrics about day-to-day events as well as the environment and social issues, they manage to create captivating songs filled with a compelling sense of urgency. Fascinating and heartfelt music with a level of intensity, which is otherwise only to be found at live shows
